Purchasing & Supply Chain

Our Purchasing & Supply Chain team’s job is to support the business by making sure we have the right products in place, at the right time, at the right price. We do this by placing strategic sourcing at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we spend in excess of £800 million each year on goods and services. We also deliver to 7,000 units per week at a service level of no less than 98% and maintain a range of around 11,000 products. Impressive stuff.

As part of that team, whatever role you’re in, you’ll have a responsibility for making sure we get the products and services our business needs – as and when they need them. It’s about managing our distributors and maintaining the great relationships we have built with our suppliers and growers over the years.

So, for example, to reduce the number of deliveries and mileage, our Supply team makes sure we purchase UK-sourced products whenever they’re in season. We also try to collect waste cooking oil from Compass Group UK & Ireland sites to process into bio-diesel for our delivery vehicles.

Small steps like this make a big impact on the world around us. They also help keep the cost of our products and distribution down. As part of our team, you’ll have the chance to help similar initiatives in the future too.
